We went out and Ghalib bin Abjar was accompanying us. He fell ill on the way and when we arrived at Medina he was still sick. Ibn Abi 'Atiq came to visit him and said to us, "Treat him with black cumin. Take five or seven seeds and crush them (mix the powder with oil) and drop the resulting mixture into both nostrils, for 'Aisha has narrated to me that she heard the Prophet saying, 'This black cumin is healing for all diseases except As-Sam.' Dates (khajoor)

Dates are one of the most effective and "heavenly" fruit that Allah (SWT) blessed man-kind with! The importance and merit of dates has been mentioned more than 20 times in Al`Quran Al`Hakeem. The fruit is one of its own kind consuming which regularly can keep one away from food-poisoning, devils and charms.

Dates are very useful for a pregnant woman at the time of delivery as it makes it easy, comfortable and less painful. Allah (SWT) bountied Hazrat Maryam (AS) [Mary, The Virgin Mother], with dates at the time of birth of Prophet Jesus (AS) to make it easy and less painful.

Allah (SWT) says in Al`Quran Al`Hakeem, " And shake the trunk of date-palm towards you, it will let fall fresh ripe-dates upon you." (25) "So eat and drink and be glad, And if you see any human being, say: 'Verily! I have vowed a fast unto the Most Gracious (Allh ) so I shall not speak to any human being this day" {Surah Al-Maryam; Verses 25-26}

Allah (Az`o Wa`Jul) says at another place in Al`Quran Al`Hakeem, "Then We brought forth for you there with gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and where of you eat." {Surah Al-Mukminah; Verse:19}

To clarify it more to the understanding of people Allah (SWT) revealed the worthiness of dates through "Hadith" by Prophet Muhammaed (SAW).

Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him(SAW)) said, "Feed your pregnant wife with dates, because when the pregnant woman eat dates, she would surely to give birth to a baby who is patience, well behaved and intelligent."

This practice of the Prophet, upon him be pieced, is recorded in the two genuine Hadiths collections of Bukhari and Muslim:

Abu Buradah reported from Abu Musa, who said: "I had a new-born baby; I took him to the Prophet Muhammad, upon him be peace and blessings, who called him Ibrahim. The Prophet chewed a date, then he took it and rubbed the inside of the baby's mouth with it."
{Allah (SWT) knows the best}!!!

Do your lice hurt your

Narrated Ka`b bin Ujrah:

The Prophet (s.a.w.) came to me during the period of Al-Hudaibiya, while I was lighting fire underneath a cooking pot and lice were falling down my head. He (p.b.u.h) said, "Do your lice hurt your?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Shave your head and fast for three days or feed six poor persons or slaughter a sheep as a sacrifice:"

[Sahih al-Bukhari (Medicine / Kitab-ul-Tib)]

vinegar (sirka)

Prophet Muhammad (saws) liked vinegar. Modern medicine also acknowledge its anti-cough, anti-inflammation and digestive properties

Jabir narrated, "The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, took me one day with him to his house. He was served some bread. He asked: 'Is there any dip?' They replied 'No, only some vinegar.' He said, 'Vinegar is a good dip.'
Jabir used to say, "I have loved vinegar since I heard it from Allah’s Prophet". And Talhah ibn Naf'a said, "I have loved vinegar since I heard it from Jabir."
[Muslim, Abu Dawud, Nasa’i]
